Tips & Techniques
  1. Insert and slide the Airtraq gently and slowly.
  2. Keep the tongue from moving toward the larynx.
  3. Always keep the Airtraq along the mouth?s midline.
  4. In case structures (arytenoids, epiglottis, etc.) are not recognized, WITHDRAW THE AIRTRAQ SLIGHTLY.
Back & Up monoeuvre
  1. To expose the vocal cords, the tip of the Airtraq can be located either at the vallecula (Macintosh style), or under the epiglottis (Miller style).
  2. Once the tip is located at the epiglottis, gently LIFT UP the Airtraq (do not tilt or use a lever action).
  1. Advance the ETT slowly without twisting it.
  2. In case the ETT hits the arytenoids ROTATE BACK and LIFT UP the Airtraq slightly and again gently advance the ETT.
